Malin Andersson – Writer
Malin Andersson is a professional editor, content writer, grant writer, and poet. Originally from Metro Detroit, Malin attended the University of Michigan where she received a B.A. in Creative Writing & Literature with a Sweetland Minor in Writing and a Minor in Music.
She specializes in poetry and short fiction as well as commercial writing. Her published work explores environmental activism, women’s health issues, and socially engaged design. At the center of her writing, Malin seeks to make information and language accessible – especially in fields where jargon can exclude the public from helpful information. Creatively, Malin is interested in using imagery, sound, and surrealism as expression.
Professionally, Malin has written for the University of Michigan’s College of Engineering and the Swedish women’s health start-up “Olivia.” She currently works with the Kalamazoo Children’s Chorus for which she writes grant proposals and operates as Program Manager.
Beyond writing, Malin is a trained cellist, pianist, and vocalist. She is proud to have been a part of artistic communities such as the Kalamazoo Kids in Tune, the Octocelli group of Kalamazoo, the Michigan Pops Orchestra, and Project WriteOn.
Malin is deeply grateful for the opportunity to use her passion for writing and accessibility to support the TedX mission and its surrounding community.
